Two figures matter more than the headline count.
89.44% are single-owner. Software sold into this city is mostly built for multi-branch chains with an operations team. The overwhelming majority of Delhi gyms are an owner, a manager and a front desk. What they need is setup they can finish themselves, flat pricing that does not punish growth, and support in IST - not enterprise reporting depth.
Only 25.6% have a website. 811 of 3163. That tells you where competition for members actually happens: WhatsApp, Instagram and walk-ins, not search. It also means the software has to carry the member relationship, because there is no website doing it.
What retention looks like
Software is a retention tool before it is an admin tool.

Setting up in a Delhi gym
Week one. Export your member list - name, phone, plan, start date, expiry, amount paid - and bulk import it. Re-typing several hundred members produces expiry errors that surface months later.
Week two. Enrol biometrics in waves as members arrive, starting with your most regular attenders. Enrolling everyone in a day does not work.
Week three. Switch renewal reminders on for a small group first. A misconfigured reminder fails silently - members stop hearing from you, and you find out at renewal.
Run the old system alongside for one full renewal cycle before retiring it.
