Workout plans are a retention tool
A new member who walks into a gym without a plan wanders between machines, feels lost, and is a strong candidate to quit in the first month. A member with a plan on their phone - exercises in order, sets and reps, a timer telling them when to start the next set - has a reason to come back tomorrow. Workout software is how a gym delivers that at scale without every trainer writing on paper.
The exercise library
| Library attribute | Detail |
|---|---|
| Size | 1,300+ animated exercises |
| Each exercise includes | Animation, step-by-step instructions, muscles worked, equipment needed |
| Tutorials | Video tutorial links |
| Where it is available | Admin Portal, Member App, Staff App and Guest Mode |
Animated demonstrations solve a real problem: members do not read instructions, and a static image of a cable movement is ambiguous. An animation shows the movement as it should be performed.
The workout builder
Trainers build workouts by picking exercises from the library - each tagged with the muscles it works and the equipment it needs - and arranging them into a plan. Plans can be reused across members - a “push / pull / legs” template assigned to 40 beginners - or tailored for a single PT client. Once assigned, the plan appears in the member’s app immediately.
The workout runner
Inside the member app, the workout runner takes the member through the session: the current exercise with its animation and instructions, the set they are on, and a rest timer before the next. It turns a plan into a guided session, which is the difference between a plan that is followed and one that is glanced at once.
Tracking consistency and progress
- Habit goals for the daily behaviours members are trying to build.
- Streaks and weekly goals that reward consistency, with leaderboards for a bit of competition.
- Progress photos members take privately in the app.
- Loyalty coins for full-week attendance.
The member progress tracking guide explains how to use these without overwhelming members.
For trainers and personal training
Workouts are visible on the member’s complete profile in the Admin Portal, so any trainer can see what a member is following. For personal training, sessions included, used, scheduled and remaining are tracked alongside the plan, and trainer client load and earnings are tracked for payroll and commissions.
Pair workouts with nutrition
Most members’ goals are as much about food as training. Torzil’s diet management sets calorie and macro targets in the same app, so a member sees today’s workout and today’s meals on one home screen.
A real exercise library, guided in the app
Torzil combines a large animated exercise library (1,300+ exercises with muscles, equipment and instructions), a trainer workout builder, a member-side workout runner with rest timers, and progress and habit tracking - inside the same platform that runs memberships and billing. Guest Mode extends it to prospects before they join. More in gym workout plans for members.
