Personal training is often a gym’s highest-margin revenue - and its messiest
PT packages are sold in sessions, delivered across weeks, paused when the client travels, and shared between the gym and the trainer. Run on paper or a trainer’s diary, the questions pile up: how many sessions has this client got left, did that session count, why does the trainer’s commission not match the accounts? Disputes over session balances are one of the most common sources of friction between clients, trainers and owners.
Session tracking both sides trust
| PT balance | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Included | Sessions in the package |
| Used | Sessions completed |
| Scheduled | Sessions booked ahead |
| Remaining | What the client still has |
PT attendance is logged by staff or by members, so the trainer, the client and the owner see the same number.
Selling PT
- PT add-ons attach to an active membership, sold by staff or bought by members in the app.
- Session packs and packages priced your way, with offers if you run them.
- Part payments with due dates for higher-value PT packages.
- GST invoices generated like any other sale.
Pauses without arguments
Clients travel, fall ill and get busy. PT pause requests go into the same Pause Approvals queue as membership pauses; managers approve or reject with a reason, and pause days are credited back automatically.
Trainers: load, earnings and commission
Torzil’s staff and trainer management records each trainer’s specialities, branch assignments, client load and earnings. Payroll supports commissions alongside attendance-linked salary, so a trainer’s PT income is calculated from the same session data the client sees. The trainer commission guide covers common commission structures.
Plans that travel with the client
Trainers assign workout plans from the 1,300+ exercise library and diet plans with calorie and macro targets. Clients follow them in the app with the workout runner, rest timers and macro tracking, and log progress photos - so PT continues between sessions.
Online and hybrid PT
PT clients can launch video sessions from the member app, and online classes use automatically generated Google Meet links, which suits remote coaching and clients who travel.
One record for client balance, trainer pay and revenue
Torzil ties PT sales, session balances, pauses, plans and trainer pay together, so the client’s balance, the trainer’s commission and the gym’s revenue come from one record. That removes the most common PT disputes and makes PT easier to sell.
